Gopro 8 webcam mode

Hello!

I’m building OpenHD system to get maximum quality picture. Ordered some camera, CSI adaptor to test some options and after that I realized, that GoPro made new firmware that allows to use GoPro 8 and 9 as a webcam. So I’m interested, is it possible to coonect GoPro 8 in webcam mode to air unit through USB? Latency is not a problem for me.

Dont know about the 8 specifically. Someone posted this link some time back

This is connection through hdmi with GoPro multimedia mod. It needs 70$ GoPro device and CSI-2. More weight, more money. If it’s possible to connect to usb it’ll be much easier

Connect it to a pc or android (USB Camera app on play store) and see if it works as a webcam. I’ll do some checking as well.
