Soldering PI zero connections

Hello,

I’ve got a problem making a permanent connection to my pi zero for the wifi adapter, if I solder a connection to the usb ports data lines the port stops working and works normally again if i unsolder and use the micro USB with an adapter.

Any ideas what i might be doing wrong?

I’ve burned out a wifi adapter with this problem, so I’m being slightly careful not to do the same again !!

Cheers

Matt

I’m guessing the data lines need to be a twisted pair?

Wires reversed? cant tell in pic because we cant see the adapter. Also you used same color for both lines…
Twisting data wires is always good.
You should have a common ground.

Twisty twisty worked, I was just slightly cautious after popping a wifi adapter.

Shielding would be a really good idea too
